Liberty University adds StatMonitr for 2013-14
LYNCHBURG, VA. -- Liberty University and StatBroadcast Systems agreed on terms to use the StatMonitr media stats platform and StatMonitr hardware on the campus of Liberty for the upcoming school year, beginning in August 2013. As part of the agreement, Liberty will also begin using the system immediately at the 2013 Big South Conference Baseball Tournament for which they are serving as host of at the end of May.
Liberty University is a private, Christian university located in Lynchburg, Virginia and was founded in 1971. With an enrollment of 13,500 residential students and more than 80,000 students studying online, Liberty is the largest private, nonprofit university in the nation and the largest university in Virginia. The Liberty Flames compete as members of the Big South Conference at the NCAA Division I FCS level. Liberty is the second youngest school in NCAA Division I (behind StatBroadcast partner FGCU) and sponsors 18 varsity sports. The Liberty men's basketball team has made three appearances in the NCAA tournament, most recently in 2013, and the women's basketball team reached the Sweet 16 of the 2004 NCAA tournament.
