University of Virginia picks StatMonitr for 2013-14
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA. -- The University of Virginia and StatBroadcast Systems announced today that they have reached agreement to use the StatMonitr media stats system at Virginia home athletic events during the 2013-14 academic year.
The University of Virginia is a public research university lcoated in Charlottesville, Virginia. It was established in 1819 behind the vision of former President Thomas Jefferson and the original site of the university was built on the estate of former President James Monroe. Today, UVA boasts an enrollment of more than 14,500 students and is ranked No. 2 on U.S. News and World Report's rankings of public universities. The Virginia Cavaliers sponsor 25 varsity sports as members of Division I's Atlantic Coast Conference. The Cavs have won 20 NCAA national championships, including six in men's soccer, five in men's lacrosse and three in women's lacrosse. They have also made five appearances in the Final Four (men's basketball: 1981, 1984; women's basketball: 1990-92).
Virginia is the ninth member of the ACC to partner with StatBroadcast; the ACC also partners with StatBroadcast for its football, men's basketball and women's basketball championships. UVA is the sixth school from Virginia to partner with StatBroadcast.
